under 16's v's under 14's
saturday 8th september
The new under 16's and under 14's met for the first real test after the summer break on a sunny saturday morning. The new pitch was a bit of a let down, but nothing that can't be sorted. Both squads looked strong remaining mostly the same from last season with a few additions.
The game started well with good attacking football from both sides, but the under 16's were probably the best team in the first 10 minutes if i was honest and this was soon reflected in the opening goal going to the u16's. 1-0
The u14 fought back well gaining confidence all the while playing nice football and applying pressure until it came 1-1 Tash cracked the ball home from outside the box into the top corner (what a goal).the under 16's looked stunned and 5 minutes later Laura made it even worse scoring a toe poke from 4 yards taking the u14's 1-2 up at the break.
Second half
The u14's started well looking strong and confident and soon Chloe shot from 30 yards into the bottom corner 1-3 to the under 14's another great goal. The u16's were looking shocked, stunned and tried to fight back but the u14's were still controling the game and looked strong, confident and the free flowing football was showing the real u14's class. The game still had a long way to go and the u16's were starting to find there feet as the u14's took there feet of the pedal and it wasn't long before it was 2-3 resulting from a mistake at the back. The under 16's had the bit between the teeth and soon it was all level with a good goal 3-3. The under 16's were back in a game with wind in there sails there were playing much better. The under 14's were still playing well but were lacking fitness and it showed but again as they always do they made there manager proud as they combined well showing true fitting spirt and the goose again showed why she such a class player with a fine goal 3-4.With minutes remaining the under16's again scored bringing it level at the end a fair result 4-4.
both team done there managers proud and it was a good game to watch, played in good spirit and supported well by both sets of parents thanks to all for making it a pleasent day.
we should do it again some time.
Well done to Alistair for being ref (thanks)

well the season is apon us, and again is't up early Saturday mornings for footy but at least were close to home with our new pitch at wildern, even if there are a few marking issues i'm sure we'll get there in the end and at least we don't have to drive to winchester to play home games. The first game at home against a side we new to be strong was always going to be a good test and so it proved. St Francis started well controling the first 10 minutes playing some good football. we wasn't playing that bad but we couldn't hold and play the ball the way i know the girls can, maybe it was nerves with such a big crowd. We started to get a foot hold after 10 minutes with the introduction of Jazz who changed the game instantly, resulting in a 1-0 lead soon after. we continued to improve and were soon playing the good football i know we can play, good passing/ movement & goals. At this point i would love to continue a very discriptive goal by goal account but seems it so long ago i can't remember the correct scoring sequence, Dooooooooo.
We were far to strong for a side who were realy a year younger and as the game wore on it showed. St Francis are a good side and i expect the re-match to be a lot tougher but with all that said and done it was still a great team performance with everyone playing great.
Well done Girls

A sunny day in Winchester saw us arrive to take on a confident Winchester side after there win the previous week against Sailsbury.
Game on and were off, we start well with some bright moves, passing well and looking the better side. It took 15min Before lucy made a superb goal and put us in front, chloe scored the second 5 min later with a good run and shot. 2-0. Shelby came on and rattled the cross bar with a cracking 20 yard shot and scored from the rebound that rolled back to where she was standing admiring her previou effort for her to whack it straight back to a bemused goal keeper. 3-0
Second half
a bit shaky to start with from the restart but we soon got to grips and again we were in full flow playing good passing football. jenna came close with a good run on to a long ball and almost lobbed the keeper missing by inches. Lucy got onto a great pass and slotted it home as cool as cucumber 4-0. Laura added to the score a few minutes later with a delicate touch to cap a great performance 5-0. the football was good to watch and with Hanna passing the ball well, Chloe and rosie solid at the back and shell solid but untroubled in goal it left the attackers plenty of freedom to run riot and the last 15 minutes Was all one way traffic. Tash Scored a great goal from the edge of the box to also cap of a good performance. Everyone played well when asked and we can only get better, WELL DONE
Winchester were a good team and strong upfront with one certain girl very tricky and if it wasn't for Chloe marking her out the game in the secound half i'm sure Winchester would of caused us alot more problems. They will do well this season and i would like to say thanks to there manager for his comments after the game

Another week another challenge, this time it was salisbury who were our opponents and judging from the salisbury team we played last season we new they would be a good team.
We started bright and it wasn't long before we took the lead with a good goal from jazz followed by another soon after, by Jazz who had started very bright. We were playing well even with some of our better players missing and the team looked strong. Lucy (goose) soon came to life and wasn't to be out done by jazz and scored the next 3 to put us comfortably 5 nil up with little resistance from salisbury. Changes were made and izzy (baby) made her debut along with Niahm both played well but i know better is to come. Salisbury were now playing alot better and soon got a goal followed by another soon after but to little to late against a much changed side.
Final whistle and it finnished 5 - 2 another win and 3 points to the Rangers, who again played well even with a changed side a big well done to Izzy and all the team, roll on the next game.
